Christmas & carol singers
Christmas bookings are charged at the table rates above, and carol bookings start with a Small Choir of four, since the singing is normally unaccompanied. A soloist is available for a sung grace or a single set piece at a dinner. A carol service in an office, livery hall, or hired church, or carol singers roaming a party or singing sets in a lobby, costs the same as the equivalent ensemble at any other time of year. Prices include all taxes, fees, and travel within Greater London.
A standard Christmas booking covers up to an hour and a half including breaks, or the length of a church service. The choir sings entirely a cappella where there is no instrument, and we can also provide an organist or pianist, or background piano between sets. Bringing a keyboard and speaker to a venue without a piano carries an extra charge, quoted upfront. Christmas Eve and Christmas Day dates carry a premium of around 25%, and December diaries usually close by mid-September. Our carol singers cost guide breaks down the options.

What are the standard rates for funeral music?
A solo funeral singer starts from £250. A small choir of four singers costs from £1,150, a quintet from £1,400, a sextet from £1,600, a full choir of eight from £2,000, and a twelve-voice chorus from £3,000. Are there any hidden fees?
No. The price we quote is the price you pay. All fees and taxes are included. Travel costs may apply for venues outside Greater London, but we discuss those upfront before you commit. You will never receive an unexpected invoice.
Do prices include travel?
Prices shown cover venues within Greater London. For venues further afield, travel costs depend on the location and the number of singers. We calculate the travel supplement before you book and include it in your written quote, so you know the full cost from the start.
Can I get a custom quote?
Yes. Get in touch with the date, venue, and any details about the occasion. We will send a written quote within 48 hours. There is no obligation and no charge for the quote itself.
Can you provide music at short notice?
Yes. We regularly arrange funeral music at short notice, sometimes within 48 hours. Contact us with your date and we will confirm availability the same day. For weddings and other planned events, we recommend booking at least six months ahead.
Do your prices go up at Christmas?
No. December bookings are charged at the same rates as the rest of the year, inclusive of taxes, fees, and travel within Greater London. The exceptions are Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, which carry a premium of around 25%, confirmed in your written quote before you book.
How long does a Christmas carol booking last?
A standard Christmas booking covers up to an hour and a half including breaks, or the length of a church carol service. Longer programmes are possible for a premium fee, quoted upfront. Between sets we can provide background piano if your venue has an instrument.
Who will I be booking with?
The London Choral Service is the trading name of Alma Consort Ltd, and that is the company name you will see on your booking confirmation and invoice.
