Accessibility statement
What this site does to be usable by everyone, where we know it falls short, and how to tell us.
The London Choral Service wants every visitor to be able to read this site, hear the recordings and send an enquiry. This statement describes what the site does, what we know falls short, and how to reach us if something does not work for you.
What the site does
Every page is hand-written HTML with one heading structure, a skip link to the main content, and landmarks for the header, navigation, main content and footer. Text and background colours were measured at a contrast ratio of 5.66:1, above the AA threshold. Menus, dropdowns, forms and video players work from the keyboard, and the navigation announces its state to screen readers. Animation stops when your device asks for reduced motion. Nothing plays automatically: recordings start only when you press play. Type sizes are set in relative units, so browser zoom and text-size settings are respected, and the site is built to work at a 320-pixel viewport without sideways scrolling.
What we know falls short
Our recordings are hosted on YouTube. The player is YouTube’s, and the clips are music without speech, so we have not provided captions; we describe each piece in the text beside it. The enquiry form is protected by hCaptcha, which may present a visual challenge; hCaptcha offers an audio alternative and an accessibility option in the challenge itself, and you can always email us or call instead. We have not yet had the site audited by an independent accessibility specialist.

If you would like any page, a quote or a booking confirmation in large print, plain text or another format, ask and we will send it. There is no charge.
