Carol singers for a two-hour booking
| Ensemble | Details | Price for two hours |
|---|---|---|
| Small Choir 4 singers | Soprano, alto, tenor, and bass, singing unaccompanied. Four voices carry across an office party, a hotel lobby, or a residents’ evening without a microphone, and most carol bookings start here. Across two hours that usually means three or four sets of about twenty-five minutes. | £1,150 |
| Quintet 5 singers | A second soprano strengthens the tune, which helps when guests start to join in, and opens up arrangements a quartet cannot sing. The extra singer costs £250 more than a quartet. | £1,400 |
| Sextet 6 singers | Six voices hold their own at a busy reception or in a large atrium, where four singers can sink under the conversation. | £1,600 |
| Full Choir 8 singers | Eight singers for a carol service in a livery hall or a church, or a gala dinner in a big, full room. The choir can divide into eight parts for the fuller carol arrangements. | £2,000 |
| Chorus 12 singers | Twelve voices for a charity carol concert or a carol service in a large church, with enough sound to lead a full congregation. | £3,000 |
Additions
| Addition | Details | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Organist or pianist | Accompanies a carol service or a singalong, or plays background piano between sets so the music carries on while the singers rest. Priced at £250, whether booked alone or with the choir. | £250 |
| Soloist | For a sung grace or a single set piece at a dinner. Carol sets start with four singers, because unaccompanied carols are sung in harmony. | From £250 |
| Keyboard and speaker | For a venue without a piano, if you want accompaniment or background piano. | Quoted upfront |
| Christmas Eve and Christmas Day | A premium on bookings for 24 and 25 December, confirmed in your written quote. | Around 25% |
| Longer than two hours | Programmes that run past two hours, such as a choir on call through a dinner. | Quoted upfront |
What typical Christmas bookings cost
- Carol singers at an office drinks reception: Small Choir of four, £1,150.
- Lobby carols at a hotel, with background piano between the sets: Small Choir of four and a pianist, £1,400.
- A carol service in a livery hall with an organist: Full Choir of eight and an organist, £2,250.
- A charity carol concert in a large church: Chorus of twelve and an organist, £3,250.
Each of these is the whole cost for a date other than Christmas Eve or Christmas Day at a venue in Greater London. The full year-round list is on our pricing page.
How the two hours usually run
At a drinks reception or in a lobby, the singers do three or four sets of about twenty-five minutes, with breaks between them so the voices stay fresh and your guests can talk. Unaccompanied carols tire a voice faster than singing with an instrument, and the breaks are why the last set sounds as good as the first.
At a carol service, the booking is the length of the service, however the readings fall. Tell us the running order of your event, from arrivals to speeches to the moment dinner is served, and Luca plans the sets around it. Our guide to hiring carol singers covers the practical side, from the space the singers need to what they wear.
Included in every price

Frequently asked questions
How much do carol singers cost?
Four professional carol singers cost £1,150 for up to two hours, breaks included. A quintet is £1,400, a sextet £1,600, a choir of eight £2,000, and a chorus of twelve £3,000. Every price includes taxes, fees, and travel within Greater London.
How long do carol singers sing for?
A standard Christmas booking covers up to two hours including breaks, or the length of a church carol service. Most receptions and lobby events use three or four sets of about twenty-five minutes. Longer programmes carry a premium fee, quoted upfront.
Do your prices go up at Christmas?
No. December bookings are charged at the same rates as the rest of the year. The exceptions are Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, which carry a premium of around 25%, confirmed in your written quote before you book.
Can we book fewer than four carol singers?
Carol bookings start with a Small Choir of four, because unaccompanied carols are sung in four-part harmony. A soloist, from £250, is available for a sung grace or a single set piece at a dinner.
Do you add VAT?
No. We are not registered for VAT, so the price we quote is the price you pay.
Do you travel outside London?
Yes. Prices include travel within Greater London. For venues further afield we add a travel supplement, calculated before you book and included in your written quote.
Can we book carol singers at the last minute?
Yes. Last-minute Christmas bookings are welcome, and a date booked in December costs the same as one booked in June; only Christmas Eve and Christmas Day carry a premium. Send us the date and the venue, however close, and we will confirm availability within one working day.
