The London Choral Service
When the music has to be perfect

Professional singers, choirs, and instrumentalists for funerals, weddings, memorials, and ceremonies across the United Kingdom. A small, hand-picked team chosen and directed by Luca Wetherall, a Tutor in Music at the University of Oxford.

Musicians from the Royal Academy, the Royal College, and Britain’s leading conservatoires.

The right music for the moment

A single voice to hold a room in stillness. A four-part choir to carry a congregation through a hymn. A twelve-voice chorus with strings to fill a cathedral. We match the ensemble to the venue, the congregation, and the music you want.

You tell us what you need, or we help you decide. We handle rehearsals, repertoire, and logistics, so the music on the day is one less thing for you to think about.

Christmas 2026

In December our choirs sing carol services in offices, livery halls, and churches, and our carol singers work hotel lobbies, drinks receptions, and residents’ evenings — roaming among guests or singing sets, entirely a cappella if the space has no piano. We charge the same rates in December as the rest of the year, and the popular dates are usually gone by mid-September.

Who we are

Luca Wetherall, our Artistic Director, studied music at the University of Oxford, where he is now a Clarendon Scholar and Tutor in Music, teaching academic music, conducting, and singing across the university. Read more about Luca.

Every musician on the team has been chosen by Luca himself, for their voice and for how they carry themselves at a funeral or a wedding. Graduates of the Royal Academy of Music, the Royal College of Music, and Britain’s leading music colleges.

Their credits include the coronation of King Charles III, the Olympics closing ceremony, the Royal Albert Hall, Westminster Abbey, and St Paul's Cathedral. They perform with the BBC Proms, the Royal Philharmonic, and the English National Opera. They read a room and adjust on the day — softer when a family is struggling, stronger when a congregation needs carrying through a hymn.

The London Choral Service is the trading name of Alma Consort Ltd, the company you book and pay through.

What families tell us

“I still can’t talk about it without welling up. The moment they started singing, the whole room just fell silent. Dad would have been so chuffed.”

— Margaret, Dulwich

“We were all over the place trying to organise everything and she just took the music completely off our hands. On the day it was honestly the most beautiful thing I’ve ever heard.”

— Tony, Battersea

“I rang up not really knowing what I wanted and she couldn’t have been kinder. The quartet were outstanding — several people have asked me for the details since.”

— Pamela, Richmond

Each booking is shaped around the family, the venue, and the date. Tell us about yours and we’ll suggest the musicians and the music.
